Changelog

What changed in each build, newest first. Your Mac updates itself. For phones and Windows, see Updating.

Mac 0.2.17 (3 October 2026) #

Iris as a character

  • She dances when something good happens, like a job finishing well.
  • When your mouse comes close while she is wandering, she moves away from it.
  • She gets sleepy late at night and wakes up when you move the mouse or type.
  • On battery below 20%, she moves less and stops dancing to music, to save power.

Privacy

  • She is hidden from screen sharing and screen recordings by default, so she does not show up in Zoom, Meet or Teams. You can switch this in the menu bar or the Control Panel.
  • The first time you talk to her, she tells you she is an AI, not a person. The setup screen says so too.

Fixes and checks

  • "What time is it?" is answered straight away.
  • Reminders, timers, apps and music now check that a change really happened before she says it did.
  • Crashes and errors on your Mac are now sent to us automatically, so we can fix them without asking you.

Mac 0.2.16 (3 October 2026) #

Music

  • She hears you over loud music.
  • Music goes quieter when you say her name.
  • "Pause", "stop" and "skip" work straight away while a song plays.
  • Pausing pauses the player, instead of turning your volume to zero.
  • A song is never played in her speaking voice by mistake.
  • Her dancing keeps a steadier beat.

Other

  • Naming any app brings it to the front: "Iris, Slack."
  • A daily greeting when you first come to your Mac.
  • Errands from your iPhone to your Mac.

Mac 0.2.15 (27 September 2026) #

  • Errands from your phone: no more false "Done", the whole instruction is kept, and a busy Mac shows as online.
  • Switching terminal tabs works without pressing keys for you.

Mac 0.2.14 (27 September 2026) #

Honesty

  • She checks that something really happened before she says "Done".
  • Nothing is sent (WhatsApp or anything else) unless you have confirmed it.

New

  • Memory: "remember that...", "forget...", "what do you know about me?"
  • Calendar: read your day, check if you are free, and add, move or cancel events after you say yes.
  • Questions: "find out..." and "look up..." are answered with a short spoken answer and sources on screen.
  • Browser: tidy your tabs (she asks first), reopen closed tabs, save tabs for later.
  • WhatsApp: "send it to me" sends to your own number.

Fixes

  • Music from YouTube plays again.
  • Reminders are read back from the Reminders app to check they were saved. Repeating reminders start on the right day.
  • WhatsApp never presses Return in another app by mistake.
  • Volume up and down move one fixed step.

Phones #

iPhone, iPad and Android 0.3.0

  • Chat with Iris: questions, documents, photos, camera, voice notes.
  • What Iris remembers: see and remove what she knows.
  • iPad: Iris lives on the screen, listens for her name and answers out loud.

Recent additions (if you do not see them yet, update your app)

  • Errands: ask Iris to do something on your Mac, and see the result. iPhone first, then Android.
  • Your Mac's state at the top of the chat: awake, working on something, or asleep.

Server changes (no update needed) #

  • Errands that do not need your Mac, like questions and documents, now run in the cloud even when your Mac is off.
  • An errand your Mac does not pick up within 24 hours now expires instead of running late.
  • When your daily chat allowance runs out, Iris tells you plainly instead of failing.
