Install Iris

Pick the guide for your device. Each one goes step by step and ends with what to do if something goes wrong.

Device What you need Guide
Mac A Mac with an Apple chip (M1 or newer), macOS 13 or later Install on Mac
iPhone or iPad iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, and the free TestFlight app Install on iPhone and iPad
Android Android 8 or later Install on Android
Windows Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit Install on Windows

If your Mac has an Intel chip, write to support@irisforu.com before you install. The Intel build is behind the Apple chip build.

Use the same email everywhere #

Iris has no passwords. You sign in with your email, and we send you a 6-digit code.

Use the same email on every device. That is how your phone and your Mac know they belong to the same person, and how your memories and chats follow you. It also helps if it is the email you used to sign up as a tester, so we can match your bug reports to your Iris logs.

Which devices should I install? #

  • Only a phone? That is fine. You can test chat, questions, documents, photos, voice notes and memory.
  • A Mac and a phone? Best. You can test everything, including sending jobs from your phone to your Mac.

The Guides page shows which features need a Mac and which work on a phone alone.

After you install #

  1. Read Getting started for the first five things to try.
  2. Read What Iris sees if you have not already.
  3. Keep Iris updated. See Updating.

If you get stuck #

An install that fails is a real bug, and it counts. Report it on the Report a bug page, or write to support@irisforu.com.
